MEXICAN WAVE
A ‘wave’ of interest in Abbeyfield has hit us from the Parish of St Andrews
Church at Ajijic, near Guadalajara, Mexico.
Local Abbeyfield Champion, Brian Howard and his wife, Aideen, Chairpersons
of the Church are setting up a ‘not for profit’ charity to
provide sheleterd accommodation for the elderly in the Parish, with
Abbeyfield’s ‘Guiding Principles’ at the heart of things. A four bedroomed
house has been identified for the purpose, and it has expansion capability.
It is proposed that future residents will buy in to the project along the
lines of Abbeyfield Canada’s ‘Life Lease Capital’ proposals.
The charity have applied to become Associate Members of Abbeyfield
International.
