Masayo Kidani - Asian Woman of Achievement
Abbeyfield International's UK based Director for Japan, Masayo Kidani, has
been awarded a prestigious 'Asian Women of Acheivement Award' for her Social
and Humanitarian work.
This is not only a celebration of the life's achievements of this 70 year
old Japanese shy, retiring but visionary lady, but it is also a tribute to
all Volunteers from every walk of life to recognise the fulfilment that can
be gained from offering one's time, talents and treasure at no charge for
the benefit of fellow human beings.
From her early adulthood in Japan, to her more recent years in the UK,
Masayo has worked undaunted for good causes, such as The Red Cross,
Abbeyfield International and the Hospice Movement. She has also worked
tirelessly for her own charity 'MOMIJI' which helps enrich the lives of
disabled British and Japanese young people.
Masayo has not only spread the word of Volunteering in Japan. She has also
been a staunch supporter and fundraiser for the International office of
Abbeyfield, and has been influential in the recent success of establishing
the first Asian Abbeyfield House - in the town of Gifu, near Nagoya, Japan.
