KIRTLINGTON PARK - JUNE 2007

By kind permission of Christopher Buxton, co-founder of Abbeyfield International, the country mansion of Kirtlington Park was the venue for an International gathering of Abbeyfield volunteers from around the world.

Highlights of the two day event included visits to local Abbeyfield Houses - the Brian Lewis House in Oxford, and 'The Old Bakehouse' at Chadlington..

Lady Virginia Bottonley, Patron of the Abbeyfield Society in the UK attended this Showcase of AI 's activities, and warmly congratulated delegates on their global successes.

The new AI DVD - 'Living Life to the Full' was launched.

Produced by Executive Director Richard Seaman it chronicles the history of the Abbeyfield Movement, its values and principles, and documents the current international projects. The DVD highlights the debt of gratitude that the movement owes to its huge army of volunteers, dedicated housekeepers and wonderful residents, who together define the 'warmth of spirit' that are hallmarks of all Abbeyfield Houses, anywhere in the world. Copies are available from the St Albans office, free of charge. The production can also be viewed on the web site in the 'About Us' section (for those with broadband capability).
