Abbeyfield is a volunteer led charity with over 90% of its staff giving their services free of charge - more than 12,000 people worldwide! We welcome all offers of help whether they be in the form of cash donations and sponsorship, time and effort, or general support and encouragement.
The Abbeyfield concept of very sheltered housing now plays a major role in the welfare of older people in the UK and 15 other countries worldwide. However, there are many others who would welcome the opportunity to become Abbeyfield residents.
Your support by becoming a "Friend of Abbeyfield International" will bring their hopes just a little closer to reality.
There are several ways in which you can play a practical role. For example, by
- encouraging friends and relatives living overseas to take an interest in developing Abbeyfield locally
- spreading the word about Abbeyfield to interested international parties
- advising us of publications that may be willing to publish articles about Abbeyfield.
